Seminar one - "It's a free world" concept, theorized by Dr. L (professor of a life sciences module I am taking this new term)
What you don't have, you can just admire at others who have it. No gorgeous boyfriend/ girlfriend, no worries. Admire those people who are blessed with such fancy arm accessories. Got a son who wants a puppy? Hand him a How to Take Care of your Pet Dog comic book where the burden of everyday responsibilities is but solemnly highlighted. And the same rule will apply. No pet dog, no worries. Go to the park and gawk at pet owners with their pedigrees.
