I went to bed past 3 last night. For most of us, a night's rest brings us tirelessly to the next morning while for the others, it is much a struggle, an uncertainty. And sometimes, you don't even get to get to see the morning's first rays. It was 9.30am when I woke up to news of his demise, never mind that it wasn't through the night that the pontiff passed.
Update: I realize he had passed away at 3.37am (singapore time), minutes after I'd headed to bed. Not that I could have done anything to prevent anything from happening, but the thought that I had purposely checked to see if he was getting on any better the last thing before I went to bed made it all the more distressing.
